Dashain (Dasheero)
Dashain, the most auspicious and the longest festival in Nepal, will start at 5thOct,2012 this year and last for 15 successive days. The festival is renowned for its emphasis on the importance of family gatherings and also on the renewal of community ties.
Although the whole set of rituals in tradtional Dashain may not be practiced in Hong Kong, it is still regarded as an important festival by the Nepalese community in Hong Kong. They organize various activities from family gatherings and BBQ parites to dancing and singing profram in commuity halls. By celebrating the festival in Hong Kong, the Nepalese communit get chance to have gathering with their friends to keep them in touch. In this sense, this traditional Neapalese festival is crucial to maintain bonding among members of the Nepalese coummunity in Hong Kong.

The are usually event posters stuck on the wall outside the grocery stores in Jordan area. The main purpose of them is to high line the monthly and weekly events which will be held within certain ethnic minority. The grocery shops act as crucial advertising platform for the events held within different communities as their target customers are mainly the ethnic minority community dwelling in the Jordan area. Moreover, these posters are crucial means that the ethnic minority used to maintain the internal bonding by advertising the events.

Teej Festival
Teej Festival is celebrated by Nepalese women, including both married and unmarried. During the festival, they sing, dance and do 24-hour fasting without water and fruits.
